It's offical, I lost my sitter today.

Chuck is off work tomorrow during the day since he is teaching a class in the evening. He will take and pick her up. Friday, my next door neighbor will take care of drop off and pick up and watch her till I get off work.

All the names I've been given so far have turned up nothing. I've got one more to try.

Oh, how is wish I didn't have to work!

ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS

Just when I thought it was getting easy the phone rings and everything changes.

The new sitter is considering changing schools for her daughter. She just isn't adjusting well and private school has been one of the options they are considering. The other option being homeschooled. Because of that she may not be available to take and pick Aubrey up at school anymore.

At this point I will just start looking for someone else as a backup and if the time comes that I have to hire someone else I'll at least have an idea of where to start. Wish me luck!

On the "good" news front, yesterday Aubrey had Music class and loved it! Today is Art and she can't wait! Tomorrow is Gym class and she is indifferent! Not quite sure what they do in P.E. ! Tonight we are heading to the store to buy new tenny runners.....hers, she says are just too small! No toe room!!

ALL IS WELL

We have finished out second day of school and all is well.

She loves school, her teacher, new sitter and the sitters kids. When I dropped her off this morning I think she couldn't get rid of me fast enough! Christy also called me today to let me know that Aubrey gave her no problems at all when she dropped her off.

Hopefully this week we will be able to fall into a routine. Something we have never had. Aubrey is a night owl and can sometimes outlast us both. We will have to see how things progress.

Everything started out okay.........
Ended with her having a teachers aide stand with her so I could leave the room. Not good, not pretty and I was a mess too.

UNPACK YOUR BACKPACK & ONE MORE SLEEP !!

Tomorrow is a very big day in our household.

Aubrey will be heading off to Kindergarten and life as I know is will change....In many ways.

Today is her last day at Joni's. Our babysitter/bestfriend, that has helped me raise Aubrey from almost birth. She has told me that she is a bit sad to see her go. The Temples are more like family so it will be hard to not see them every single day of the week on a regular basis.

Friday being the first day of school, I've decided to go into work late and take her to school myself. That is one thing that I'm just not willing to miss out on. I will miss enough as it is being a working mom. I will also go pick her up.....after all I will be dying to find out all about her first day.

Chuck and I had decided that we wouldn't send her lunch with her everyday to school. We thought that if she was faced with having to make a decision of what looked best to eat in the cafeteria and knowing that this was her one chance to eat during the day then maybe she would branch out and like new foods. Well, lets just say that I don't think "Pork Taco Nachos with Salsa" is the way to start out the school year. So, tonight on the way home, Aubrey and I will be stoping by Target to purchase a lunch bag. AND, of course stuff to put in it. I guess one way to look at it...I was a picky eater too and took my lunch to school often and I still turned out okay!

Monday she will start with her new babysitter. Christy has a first grader and she lives in our neighborhood so she will be taking the girls and picking them up after school.

Then in about three weeks Aubrey is going to be starting a dance class! She is pretty excited about this. Christy's daughters are taking classes and since Aubrey will have to go along then I thought it would be just as easy to sign her up as well. It would have been tough for her to go along and just sit on the sidelines while the other girls were dancing and twirling away.

Last night was "Unpack Your Backpack" night. She took all of her school supplies and dropped them off in her classroom. She also got to meet her teacher again. I also got to see the classroom. I didn't get to see the inside on Kindergarten roundup that day. I found myself just wanting to stay and absorb all that I could. SHE IS GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

So, as a first time Kindergarten mom (and last time) I've got so many emotions running right now that I'm exhausted and feeling just a bit sick to my stomach. I'm sad but at the same time excited for her and all that she will learn and become. I'm also worried but yet at the same time confident that she will figure out on her own how to handle what ever comes her way.

So tomorrow after I drop her off at the first day of the rest of her life I think I'll swing on back home to load my pictures and share with you all. After all, it will give me a chance to compose myself before heading off to work. Besides....I may need to touch up my mascara!!!

PICTURES PART TWO

The flowers that the city of Breckenridge plant are just amazing! Every pole had hanging pots. All along the streets and store fronts where covered with arrangements.

A drive over to Keystone to go boating.

AND

a picture of Aubrey, Sysco and I after our trail ride! After the trouble getting on the horse.....I had almost as much getting her off!

VACATION UPDATES

We are still having a wonderful time in Breckenridge. In my last post I mentioned that I would be taking Aubrey horseback riding. I would like at this point to report that the experience went well. But, I would be lying!

At 5 years old she would need to be on her own horse. A "pony" they told me and that she would be lead by the guide. No problem...she thought that would be great.....after all I did tell her that it would be the ONLY way that we would be able to ride. She was just too old to be riding double with me.

At the point where we were to mount our horses (or "pony") she melted.....completely lost it! Clung to my leg and REFUSED to mount her horse. She cried, screamed and just plain lost it. At this point the guide told me that we could go ahead and ride double. So, back to the barn to get some money back and rip up the old check and write a new one. They found us a horse big enough and old enough to carry both of us. A grandma horse named Sysco. Quite slow!!

Aubrey had a great time after this very eventful start. For the most part she has enjoyed everything we've done on this trip.

AND as promised, I will post pictures after we arrive back home.

VACATION

We have been enjoying a very nice vacation this week.

Friday we left our house around 7:00 P.M. and arrived in Breckenridge around 11:30 on Saturday. We took a detour in Golden, Colorado for some breakfast before heading up into the mountains to our "home" for the week.

We have been enjoying "slowing" down for a change. We basically wait till morning to decide what to do for the day.

I'll share pictures when we get home. We planned to load pictures to the laptop but left home without the cord.

Now it is off to go horseback riding! We just dropped Chuck off at the golf course and Aubrey and I will hit the stables.....wish us luck as this will only be her second time on the back of a horse!

FALLING

Have you ever had one of those weeks that it feels like just about everything is falling into place?

As I've posted before, we have found someone that can watch Aubrey before and after school. That was one of the biggest reliefs!

We have taken her to the doctor for her school check-up and she has her dentist appointment tomorrow. I hate dentists but I'll try not to let Aubrey in on that one.

I have paid all of the fees for school and just had one worry left....registration is while we are going to be on vacation. What to do? After a quick call to the school, I learned that because we attended Kindergarten Round-Up, registration is all taken care of.

An finally the last bit of information is who will her teacher be???? Well, we found out last night when we got home and got the mail! Sara, our next door neighbor, called to see who we got and was VERY excited for Aubrey when she found out who it would be! MRS. DAVIS. I guess she is one of the "reading" specialist at the school.

We have "Unpack Your Backpack" on Wednesday, August 20th. Kindergarten testing on the 21st and classes officially begin on Friday the 22nd. I'm going to take her and pick her up that day.......just because I want to! Then starting the following Monday she will be set to be taken to school and be picked up by her new sitter.

So, now all we have left to do is wait!

p.s.
I do have a small project to keep myself busy before the first day. I'll be making her a new dress for the special day. I told her we could either go shopping or I could sew. She picked sewing!! That makes me very excited because I know that those days are running out!
