PRE - HALLOWEEN RAMBLINGS

So a week ago my sis-in-law Theresa had a blog post ( see managing chaos link to the right over there! -> -> -> ) on the all of the costumes her kids have had over the last 10 years. (my favorite has always been ian's first halloween....)
So not to be out-done!!
I don't have all Aubrey's past costumes loaded into the computer but I do have the last three years worth to share. The first two years she was Piglet then Tigger.
The one above was one of my favorites to make.....I had no pattern...only my imagination.

Of course we had our Little Mermaid phase.......This was a fun one also.....ended up making three more of these and selling them on ebay for over $70 a piece!! Grandma Hilbrant helped me draft the pattern for this one...

Then we have Cinderella! Grandma made this costume as well as the costume Aubrey will be wearing this year! (a pattern that Grandma just LOVES to make!!) he he he....
Tonight we will be adding Belle from Beauty and the Beast Fame to the list of costumes......We seem to have a Disney theme going here!
On Sunday I became a bit worried about the weather.....how can we handle trick or treating in 40 degree weather....I was not looking forward to that at all! BUT, as luck would have it we are forcasted to be in the upper 60's low 70's today!! Yippe!
So with luck I will post this years halloween pictures tomorrow or Saturday.
A big THANK YOU to Grandma Hilbrant for the beautiful costumes she has made for ALL eight grandkids over the years!!!! We LOVE YOU!!

WHAT A DIFFERENCE TWO YEARS CAN MAKE

As I was posting the photos of our pumpkin patch weekend I thought it would be fun to go back and hunt up the old pictures of Aubrey in front of the giant ruler to compare how she has grown over the years. This picture is from October of 2006. I couldn't find last years....if I do I'll post it. She sure has grown!

EDIT: Mom found the picture of last year (2007). Seems I didn't take my camera with me (gasp!) and mom was the photogragher that day.....what kind of mom am I for having forgotten my camera on such a fun day.....

ANNUAL TRIP TO THE WAPSI

Every year we have to get the picture in front of the giant ruler.

Pony ride.

Wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Are you done taking pictures yet mom?

Grandma Hilbrant went to the pumpkin patch with us again this year. We couldn't believe the luck we had with the weather this year......it was almost too warm.

We left with three new pumpkins for our front porch. Aubrey of course had a great time on her pony ride, got her face painted and did some of the many inflatable bouncy things.

I haven't had much motivation to post to my blog much lately. I suppose i'm just a bit on the lazy side.
I took these pictures of Aubrey before dance class a few weeks ago......i'm just now getting around to sharing them.
She has new ballet shoes, and a few new pairs of tights. The leotards are compliments of Grandma Hilbrant and the tap shoes come from Aunt Theresa and also a pair from a garage sale....I wasn't too willing to spend too much money on this adventure until I was sure she liked it.......so far it has been money well spent.

I've told her that there will be a receital in June where she will perform.....she says that sounds fun but I really don't think she has a clue as to what that involves! For those of you that are followers of my blog you might remember last years grandparents day at her preschool, or mother's day lunch at her preschool, or more recently, the first day of kindergarten....she is a bit shy about getting up in front of people and performing..... I have a feeling i'll be paying big bucks for the dance costume and it will not even see the stage! Oh, well.....someday she will out grow her timidness!!
In other news, we had her first Kindergarten parent/teacher conference last night. It was nice to actually talk with the teacher and get her take on how Aubrey's doing in class. She tell us that all is well and only a couple small things to work on......no surprises at all!
The next bit of news is that Aubrey will be losing a tooth sometime very soon! She is oh so excited........again.....i think she doesn't have a clue that it might hurt a bit with it is pulled out....and there might be a little bit of blood.......well, she will soon find out.
I can't think of any thing else that is too exciting around here so i'll close for now.
i'd promise you all i'll post more often but what would be the point in that!! too much pressure!!
