FLASHBACK FRIDAY AND REFLECTIONS

i picked this picture because a. it was taken in a place we have made plans to visit again this summer, and b. well, it's the only old picture i have loaded on my computer here at work.

speaking of work.....about three weeks left of busy season.....and they will be busy. i've found this year that as aubrey has started kindergarten and i've had to have a new sitter that i've not been available to work as late as i normally have.....thus, making the season go quicker.

~

this week she is spring breaking down south ~ well muscatine anyway....that is south of here by the way. this week is also chucks on call week so i am taking advantage of that as well as aubrey being gone and have been working as many hours as i can......

~

now for some reflection......

as a client came into the office the other day he casually asked "how's it going".....standard answer was???? Busy...... to which he replied....well at least your working...........

made me stop to think a bit. sure we are busy and i'm not liking it right now, but i have a job and that is truly in this day and age something to be thankful for.

~

so there you have it. some flashback an a bit of reflection.....

now it's time to get back to those tax returns!

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

BEE INSPIRED

i joined a virtual quilting bee about a month ago. march was our first month and the picture shown here is my first block.

the way the bee works is like this......

-

there are 18 members...we are given a month to be in charge of....some months have two leaders.

when it is our month, we send out fabric to all our members.....giving each member an idea of what we are looking for in a quilt. for example, rachel picked pinwheels.....sent out fabric to each of us and we could each make a pinwheel block of our own choosing.

at the end of the month we mail rachel back the left over fabric along with our completed block. when she receives all the blocks she will then have enough to put together a complete quilt.

when it is not our month to send out fabric we simple have a block (or two) to complete. i have one more block to complete for this month. i just got that fabric today and will hopefully be getting that done this weekend.

may is my month to send out fabric. i will share pictures and ideas later on when i figure out what my color and block theme will be.

and of course my goal is to do this without buying more fabric!!
