i finally completed the quilt top for aubrey that my "bee inspired" buddies helped me with......now all that is left to finish is the quilting. that will have to wait till after tax season i guess. aubrey on the other hand would much rather i did it NOW. i guess that's a good thing.....means she likes the quilt!
~
seventeen of these blocks came from all over the country, alaska to maine and many other states in between as well as new zealand, germany, british columbia and denmark! i also made three blocks of my own to finish it off and make it a bit bigger.
~
along with this project will come a new paint job in aubrey's room.....new window treatments dust ruffle, etc. she is very excited! BUT, pictures of all that will have to wait till a much later date!

LONG OVERDUE CHRISTMAS PICTURES, part one

aubrey opens her new hawkeye cheerleading outfit that i made.....(more picture coming soon in another post!)

mom and dad each get to open a few gifts!

aubrey opens more gifts and stops to smile for the camera!

we opened our gifts for each other on christmas eve. daddy had to work on christmas day so we knew we would have very little time in the morning on christmas to spend unwrapping......
~
aubrey and i spent the day playing with new games and doll clothes....i also finished up some sewing i had started for aubrey that i just couldn't quite get done before christmas.
~
christmas was more relaxed this year. we couldn't leave town because chuck was working and on call all week. so we stayed around the house and just took it easy. we also make the decision early on that we wouldn't be getting aubrey so much this year. last year it seemed that she got bored before she was done with all the presents.....we just thought that there was no better time then now to set the tone for years to come....while she was still young and didn't know the difference.
